| MKO, being independent optometrists, can supply any type of contact lens from any manufacturer and we do fit a very wide range of lenses in order to provide the best fitting, the best vision and the best health for your eyes. The new lens materials allow more oxygen through to the eye, which means healthier eyes and longer wearing times. The healthiest and most convenient contact lenses are Daily Disposables. You wear these lenses just once for the day or golf match or whatever and then throw them away; you use a fresh pair every time you want to wear them. You can also get daily lenses that correct limited amounts of astigmatism (rugby ball shaped eyes). We can also fit extended wear lenses that you wear for a month, either without taking them out of your eyes at all, or just once or twice a month. These lenses are also available as a varifocal or multifocal, which means you can see distance and reading, 24/7; no need for specs at all, although it’s worth having a back up pair just in case. Other monthly disposables are available, which you remove each night and cleanse, that can correct virtually any prescription including high degrees of astigmatism and presbyopia (i.e. multifocals so you can see distance & reading). If you want to change your eye colour, tinted monthly & daily disposables are available. These are quite popular for people who do not even need a prescription but just fancy an eye colour change to match their outfit.
